2. Our commitment to your privacy

We built The Forager on a simple principle: your foraging data is yours. All discoveries, locations, notes, and photos you record in the app are stored on your device only. We have no access to this data, we do not transmit it to our servers, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.

3. This website (theforager.app)

This website is a static informational page. We do not:

• — Use cookies of any kind
• — Use analytics or tracking scripts (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, or similar)
• — Collect your IP address or any personally identifiable information
• — Store any data from visitors to this website

Your web server may log basic access information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of standard server operation. These logs are used only for security and infrastructure purposes and are not used for tracking or marketing.

4. The Forager app

Data you record

All discovery data you enter into the app — names, locations, food groups, notes, and photos — is stored locally on your device using your device's own storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it. We have no access to this data at any time.

Advertising

The Forager displays small advertisements provided by Google AdMob. To serve these ads, Google may use your device's Advertising ID (also known as GAID on Android). This is an anonymised, resettable identifier provided by your operating system.

We do not receive or process your Advertising ID ourselves. Google's collection and use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy . You can reset or opt out of personalised advertising at any time in your device settings under Privacy → Ads.

Permissions

The app requests the following device permissions:

• — Location — to pin your discoveries to the map. Location is only used when you are actively adding or viewing a discovery. It is never transmitted off your device.
• — Camera / Photo library — to attach a photo to a discovery. Photos are stored on your device only.

Crash reporting

The app does not include crash reporting or analytics SDKs. If you experience a problem, please contact us at help@theforager.app and we will investigate.

5. Third-party services

Each third-party service listed above has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the data practices of these services.

6. Children's privacy

The Forager is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or erase it.

Because we do not collect or store personal data from you (beyond what Google AdMob may process under their own policy), there is typically no personal data held by us that is subject to these rights. If you have a specific concern, please contact us at help@theforager.app and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) .
